An Unborn’s Wish By April Lamare
An unborn’s wish
I see your thoughts; I feel your heartbeat;
I see what you see and feel what you’re feeling
I see your world through your thoughts
And the world I’ll be born into through your eyes.
But Mother they are not the same!
Through your thoughts I see a world
Where children are children
Carefree and innocent
Where their eyes sparkle in contentment
The warm gentle sun above, fresh air around
And water to dandle them…
Where fear is never in their eyes
Through your thoughts I see a world
Of opportunity of great wisdom and knowledge
A world where a helping hand is never too far away
Where honesty and hard work rules
Where dreams are bridges for tomorrow
A world were smiles and laughter fills every soul
A world where freedom and justice reign
Through your thoughts I see a world
Where family is strength; marriage is sacred
But through your eyes I see a very different world
A world were children have grown beyond their age
Where the sun is no longer gentle, the air no longer fresh
Water not enough to dandle them
Where fear is all over their face
Through your eyes I see a world
Where knowledge and wisdom has lost its value
Where honesty and hard work are overthrown
By power and greed
Where dreams are just dreams
Where laughter is shadowed by sorrow
A world where freedom and justice belongs to the powerful
Through your eyes I see a world
Where families are shattered; marriage is just another trend
Mother I hear them speak of love and peace
But through your eyes I see the contradictory of them all
Oh! Mother, if this is the world that await for me
I would rather stay back and enjoy the world
Through your thoughts
I wish I could have a glimpse of what you had
And experience those feelings
I observe in your thoughts
Cause I would rather be born in that world of thoughts
Instead of this make believe world.
