How everything come into place - Part I
It was in the year 2002 that I take up one course in computer education. That's when I learn about Word, Excel, Powerpoint, the Windows OS and MS Frontpage.
A spark of fire is started in me for having my own website. The problem at that time was, (1) I didn't have a computer at home. (2) I came from a place where internet connection cost is very high. (3) I am still dependent. Slowly the fire died out, and I finally forget how to even use FrontPage editor. (I didn't know HTML that time).
I go on wit my life and in a time when I least expected it, I get access to a 27x7 computer with internet facility. I was doing my Project for my MSc degree that I also get such access. Then the spark started again. But! I totally forgot everything, so I dug up all my old books and started working.
Everything went well till I faced a problem of how to put it online. Sadly, they didn't teach that part, but furtunately I got the information from the cloud. After a long search for a host, I face two problems, I can't afford to pay a hosting service, and I don't know HTML cause I learn only FrontPage. But that didn't stop me when finally I stumble upon Yahoo geocities (Now not anymore) and get a perfect free host by sacrificing for my own domain.
Everything went well I always try to update my site everytime, put up photos and many more. With this service I have a problem. One, Yahoo display an add on the side whic rather look clumsy. I want to get it removed but its too costly.
With time I got a small job as a teacher and so I enroll myself in a full year course on computer. There I learn a lot more. Apart from FrontPage and Office package, they also taught me Photoshop, CorelDraw, PageMaker, C++, VB6.0, RDBMS (Using MySQL) and HTML with CSS. That give me more control over my web designing. I started designing using direct code input in a simple text editor. I continued to learn on my own some JavaScript from the internet and then stumble upon PHP which I realy love. To get full advantage of PHP I bought book on PHP and started learning.
After learning all these stuff I feel sad to see that Yahoo Geocities don't allow me to use PHP or MySQL or even much JavaScripting. In my search for a better host with all the above provision (PHP & MySQL) all for free without any fee, I again stumble upon Zymic.com. They provide free subdomain hosting with high hosting space and bandwith and Support PHP with 5 MySQL account that I can use. Wow! I said to myself and that too with no ad display on my site? that is unbelievable man. What is more to this Zymic.com?
I started using Zymic.com since 2008 and never look back. I'm satisfied with the http://fdiengdoh.uuuq.com/ domain they gave. I employed all my knowledge into this project. most of the time I would design locally and upload using FTP and since I don't sign up for update in my email, I hardly know what things are available in Zymic.com. This year I just feel like logging in and have a look when I saw that Premium Hosting (Hosting with your own domain and more space) is moved and handled by some other. But something caught my optic, I can have a custom domain if I register my Domain somewhere else and just point the nameserver to Zymic.com
The good thing about that is, Zymic free service is very good, and to register my own domain in less that $10/year. So I did a search on where to register and there are lots. So, picking one depend on my convenience. Finally I registered myself with fdiengdoh.com and all set to roll
I totally forgot about Yahoo Geocities and only learned that I was discontinued. I also previously tried googlepages but they don't offer what Zymic offer.
